Our Favorite Maplewood Spots

The village in Maplewood is a microcosm of what makes this lovely town so special -- it's an eclectic mix of neighborhood fixtures and on-trend dining spots and shops with a small town feel.  The train station is right there, and the huge Memorial Park, with tons of green space is adjacent.  Here are a few of our favorites.

Arturos describes itself as a humble, downtown restaurant where a warm welcome awaits.  The establishment serves farm to table and artisanal food that elevates typical pizzeria fare to an entirely new level.  The lines are often long for a reason, the food is great and the atmosphere is stellar.  Stroll the town while waiting for a table, there's lots to see.

Everything here is baked fresh from scratch daily. but that is only the start.  The 1940s-inspired décor, featuring an old enamel four-top burner and Fiestaware mugs, will entice you to stay at one of the few tables but the baked goods will send you to heaven.  They also serve amazing coffee.

This charming French-style eatery has been voted one of the country's top 100 most romantic restaurants by Open Table.  Lorena's is a small storefront space that has only nine tables, so if you plan to go, reserve early.  They do a great lunch too.

Abril Cocina

Abril Cocina opened in spring 2015, offering Mexican modern fusion.
