Newark’s Branch Brook Park, 360 acres of spectacular parklands, was designed by the renowned firm of Frederick Law Olmsted, designer of New York’s Central Park. It contains graceful, curving paths and roadways, stately stone entrances, gazebos and concert lawns. And it is most famous for it’s More than 4,000 cherry trees that blossom during April. This display is greater both in variety and number than at the famed Washington, D.C.,Tidal Basin.
The Japanese cherry blossom trees were gifted to the park by a Newark philanthropist in 1927.
