With Fall upon us, our towns are gearing up with lots of festivals and activities timed to the change in weather. Here is a sampling of our favorites.

South Orange Stay and Play Weekend

September 14-16 (rain date September 23)

Around South Orange town center

An entire weekend of activities around town.  The lineup includes a community camp out, outdoor movies, 5K race, olde timey baseball game, street games, fitness activities, inflatables, live music, art, dance, and food from local eateries. (Rain date Sunday, Sept. 23.)

Upper Montclair 42nd Annual Uptown Sidewalk Sale

Saturday, September 15

Rain or Shine

Join the fun, get the best in fashion, enjoy food, music, and entertainment. Join over 60 businesses and vendors for a family fun day! Check out special deals to be had all over Uptown and even a pie eating contest! Come early for the best deals, stay all day for the wonderful food and opportunity to mingle with the locals. Then head over to adjoining Anderson Park for the Fine Arts & Crafts show.

Fine Art & Crafts at Anderson Park

This 2-day event brings a host of vendors from all over the East Coast with a wide variety of items for sale, jewelry, fine art, ceramics, furniture, clothes, and glassware, along with a selection of food vendors, all set in the gorgeous backdrop of the Olmstead-designed Anderson Park.

Montclair Oktoberfest
Saturday, September 22
Lackawanna Plaza
12:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Presented by the Pig & Prince Restaurant and Montclair Center BID, the adult-focused event features more than a dozen local and traditional Oktoberfest style craft beers, gourmet food vendors and rocking music all day long on the Montclair Center Stage. Admission to this popular event is free and open to all.

Music at the Oktoberfest will include performances by KIDS (Indie/Folk), SMOCK (alt/psychedelic), Julie’s Party (American roots), Pioneer the Eel (indie/art rock) and the Watchung Mountain Riders (rock and roll/jam).

Food Truck & Craft Beer Fest

Tap into the fun at our annual Food Truck & Craft Beer Festival presented by the New Jersey Jackals. Join us for an all day party of fun for the whole family. The Food Truck & Craft Beer Fest will feature over 20 food trucks with a variety of delicious fare and a beer garden with over 50 different craft beers!

7th Annual Maplewood Art Walk & Music Fest

A juried fine art show on the streets of Maplewood Village. Leave the internet and malls behind and walk the streets of picturesque Maplewood Village to shop for fine art and handcrafted jewelry, enjoy live music and performances and visit the one-of-a-kind local merchants and the eclectic eateries which Maplewood is famous for.
